How to make Simple Gajar Ka Halwa with Khoya at home Dhaba Style Gajar ka halwa is a really popular sweet made in winters as it packs a lot of nutrients and taste.

This dish is especially really popular in northern India. It is made with Red carrots that are abundantly available in the winters.

In america it is really hard to find red carrots. Most of the places carry orange carrots , the carrot is still sweet but the color is not the same as Indian carrots.

Still it tastes great!!









Simple Gajar Ka Halwa with Khoya | Carrot Halwaa – Dhaba Style !!

    Ingredients

    • Ghee - 6 Tbsp
    • Carrots - 7 Cup 1.2 Kg Finely shredded
    • Khoya - 2.5 Cups
    • Sugar - 3/4th Cups
    • Elaichi / Cardamom Powder - 3/4th - 1 Tsp
    • Kaju / Cashews - 10 to 12

    Instructions

    1. Take a deep pan on low flame.
    2. Add Ghee. Then add Carrots.
    3. Mix really well and cook for 20 minutes. Keep Stirring very often.
    4. The carrots should be properly cooked and very soft.
    5. Add Khoya and mix well.
    6. Cook for 1 to 2 minutes then add Sugar and Cardamom Powder.
    7. Mix well and cook for another 2 to 4 minutes.
    8. Now the Khoya and Sugar should have melted and left water.
    9. Add Cashews and cook more.
    10. Cook till the Halwa dries up and starts collecting together.
    11. Please make sure you stir the halwa throughout the cooking process so it doesn't burn.
